LEADERSHIP TEAM

Charlie Shafer is from South Bend, Indiana and has been on staff here at FBCOB since June 2004. Charlie is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Religion as well as Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary with an Associate of Divinity. Married to Stephanie, the couple have three children, Hannah, Halle and Holton. Charlie serves as our Discipleship Pastor.

Charlie enjoys playing golf and is an avid sports fan with a special interest in THE University of Notre Dame. GO IRISH!! He loves spending time with his family, making disciples and eating ice cream!

Michael grew up at FBCOB and joined the staff in April of 2011. His married his wife, Megan in 2008 and they have 4 children.

Michael graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Arts in 2010. He then went to seminary at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, TN and earned a Master of Divinity with a focus in missions in 2016.

David James is from North Carolina. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance. He is also a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master's Degree in Worship Ministry. He is married to Samantha and they have a dog named Phoebe. David James serves as our Worship Pastor and joined our staff in May 2022.

David James is an energetic, passionate individual with a background in worship arts with a desire to be an instrument for the glory of God and leverage his life for the sake of the gospel.

Jake is from Bryant, Arkansas. Jake is a graduate of Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelors in Christian Studies and is currently receiving his Masters in Christian Ministry through Liberty University. Married to Emily. They have a dog named Parker. Jake serves as our Student + Young Adult Pastor and joined our staff in 2021.

Jake enjoys being outdoors, being adventurous, and playing/watching sports. He is a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Memphis Tigers, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Saints, and the Boston Red Sox. He also loves spending time with family and friends.

Stacey has been a member of FBCOB since 2001 and joined the ministry team in 2008.She is the director of our Preschool Ministry and also the Preschool Administrator, overseeing all of our Childcare Ministries (Daycare, 4K, and Mothers Day Out).

She has been married to the love of her life, Marc, since 1998. They have three beautiful children, Katelyn, Colby, and Carson.

She also has 150 + sweet angel darlings in her ministry that loves to share the love of Jesus with.

She is a graduate of Delta State University, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Education, as well as, her Masters of Education in counseling. Stacey loves spending time with her family, camping, reading, and traveling.
