Partnering With Parents
Our preschool ministry is co-operatively staffed with loving and trained volunteers. Parents are asked to go through our volunteer screening and application process and then placed on our volunteer schedule. The success and growth of our preschool ministry is dependent upon faithful, loving volunteers.
At FBC we offer Sunday School for all ages and believe it is important to start teaching children at the earliest of age about the love and care of the Savior. Our teachers and leaders are trained to use age appropriate methods to share the love of Jesus with even our youngest little ones. Through age-appropriate Bible stories, songs and activities, our preschoolers learn of our Savior’s love.
Extended Hour Teaching/Care
During worship services and other church sponsored activities, we offer extended hour teaching and care ministry. During this time, trained leaders and caregivers provide a loving environment for your preschooler filled with age-appropriate activities that teach and reinforce the love and care of the Savior.
During the 10:15 am Worship hour on Sunday mornings, our four and five year-olds are invited to take part in Lil’ KidsTime (FBCOB’s version of Children’s Church). Through Bible stories games, crafts, and other activities, they are taught the foundational truths that become the building blocks of their developing faith.
During mission friends, our preschoolers learn about missionaries, their families and how they work to spread the gospel to people all over the globe. They learn about foreign lands and their cultures, and the importance of supporting missionaries through prayer, letters of encouragement and giving. Mission Friends meet weekly on Wednesday evenings.
Policies & Guidelines
Policies and Guidelines
Our ministry team has put together a set of policies and guidelines for both parents of preschoolers and our volunteer staff. These guidelines are meant to help our volunteers and our preschool parents understand their role in our preschool ministry. Please ask for a copy of these guidelines from one of our preschool staff.
Security & Safety
Your child’s security and safety is very important to us. For this reason, we have implemented guidelines and practices with our volunteers and families to insure that your child is safe and properly cared for while here at FBC. All of our volunteers go through an application and screening process before being approved to work with our preschoolers. Our sign-in procedures provide us with your child’s information and give us your location in the event of an emergency or a need to find you. Additionally, the procedure provides a means of ensuring your child is picked up by the appropriate parent or guardian at the end of the ministry period. Children are only released to parents or guardians showing the correct matching label.
