Cheerful Giving
Americans gave 300 billion dollars to charity in 2006. The Bible teaches that "God loves a cheerful giver." Are you a giver? What constitutes being a "giver"? Ultimately a giver is someone who does not horde. Givers are unselfish people who consider the needs of others before their own. We all know someone who is a giver. Everyone likes being around a cheerful giver because you never know what you are going to get! God is a giver. He tells us over and over to ask for what we need and He will provide. God wants us to be like Him! God is a cheerful giver. Are you? What happens when we give and we aren't cheerful? The Bible teaches that "Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion." When we give because of guilt or duty, we cannot be cheerful in our giving. Prayerfully consider what God would have you give to Him. Consider all that He has given to you. As you count your many blessings, giving back to Him will be a happy and cheerful occasion!
See you Sunday,
Jimmy |
